Rome (Italy). On 20 December 2025, in Rome, at the General House of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Novices of the International Novitiate of Mary Help of Christians of Castel Gandolfo, together with the Formator, Sister Luisa Menozzi, and the Formation Community, experienced a time of fraternity together with Mother Chiara Cazzuola, her Council, and the Sisters of the General House Community.
The young women wished a Merry Christmas through a short performance entitled, “Daily Life: Where the Moment Opens to Eternity”, in which they emphasized that, thanks to the incarnation of Christ, everyday life and every single moment can open to eternity, thus becoming the place where God’s embrace is without interruption.
Protagonists of the daily are “the heroes of our time”, the “patient people of God”, the “saints next door”, who risk getting lost in the frenzy, yet always try to resume their march on the path illuminated by the Light that “comes to dwell among us”. The daily routine thus becomes the place where the embrace of God is without interruption.
The Novices concluded this moment with the song, “This Land”, which contains the meaning they wanted to give to their wish. “This land is covered with immensity and time opens to eternity to receive the Son of God, clothed in true humanity.”
The General Council reciprocated with a song entitled, “May Christmas be Peace,” in which all participated by alternating the voices of two soloists with the voice of the choir with the refrain:
“May Christmas be peace, may Christmas be light, may every gesture of love make us all better.” In a world that runs fast, between light and shadow there is a desire that unites everyone: peace. Peace that can come from simple things: a smile, an outstretched hand, a gesture of love.
Mother then left her message starting from the Word of God that the Liturgy offers these days. By highlighting the figure of Mary and Joseph, she invited everyone to internalize their attitude of listening, of welcoming an unexpected call. A docility to the Lord that starts from everyday life and calls each to make room for it, to let it act in one’s own life:
“Christmas is ultimately this: letting God do with us and in us what He wants. Jesus becomes incarnate in Mary’s womb because she believes that God is God, that He can do in her what is humanly impossible, but Joseph believes the same thing, that is why this great Mystery is realized.”
The evening concluded with the exchange of gifts and a convivial moment in joy and family spirit that heralds the Lord’s Birth.
