Argentina. From 5 to 13 September 2023, the General Councilor for Administration of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sister Ena Veralís Bolaños, went to Argentina for an animation visit to Laura Vicuña Province (ARG).

Sister Ena participated in three meetings in different parts of the country with the management teams of the various Houses on the theme, “For a life-generating economy”.

With confidence in the strength of shared responsibility at the service of people and the mission of the Institute in Argentina, the encounters had the aim of meeting the challenges of this particularly complex task: the management of assets in fidelity to the Charism.

Aware that from the beginning the Communities have faced this complexity, learning to joyfully live the challenge of communion in solidarity and to broaden their heart as a source of wealth, the ARG Unified Province was inaugurated on 31 January 2023 by Mother Chiara Cazzuola. It now renews the choice to be generative of life, orienting the economy towards the mission that characterized the whole life of Mary Domenica Mazzarello. Today, this is the reason for all the economic choices of the FMA Institute: “I entrust them to you.”

They were intense days of formation and marked by great challenges, faced by FMA and lay people together. Sister Ena, together with the Provincial of Argentina, Sister Silvia Boullosa, and some members of the Provincial Council, took place in the cities of Córdoba on 5 and 6 September; General Roca (Río Negro) on the 8th and 9th; and Buenos Aires on the 12th and 13th, for the regional gatherings.

The meetings began with a charismatic approach from Sister Ena, who underlined the aspect of an economy at the service of the mission and the communion of goods. She also did an in-depth study on administration and management in relation to the Law Guidelines of the Institute.

In concluding, she shared the criteria for living the third priority choice of General Chapter XXIV, to promote a supportive and sustainable economy. This is a proposal that calls for a sincere and decisive conversion, to make a dignified life possible for everyone.

The presence of the Councilor was for the FMA and for the management teams, a sign of God’s providence that accompanies and clarifies in this fundamental moment of the economic unification of the ARG Province. It gives a new impetus to the re-signification of its service in fidelity to charismatic identity and in mutual sharing between the FMA and lay people engaged in this delicate mission.

“We carry with us gratitude and joy in our hearts, together with the desire to make the content received and the discoveries made vital in the daily mission.” This is the expression of gratitude from the participants, in addition to thanks to Sister Ena for her presence from the heart, for her clarity, passion, and simplicity.
