Giaveno (Italy) On April 13, 2020, Easter Monday, Mary Help of Christians Community of Giaveno (Turin) met to give thanks to God and the Help of Christians for Sister Maria Martini’s 100 years of life. In the difficult moment that the whole world is going through due to the Covid-19 pandemic, turning 100 is a real milestone to celebrate.
In the chapel of Mary Help of Christians Institute in Giaveno, the FMA of the Community welcomed Sister with songs, prayers, and thanksgiving, in the solemn liturgical atmosphere of the Easter season. At the end, the party continued in the lounge, decorated with colored lettering and balloons, with seats at a safe distance, to comply with the rules due to the Coronavirus emergency.
A fraternal time, made of spontaneous wishes and songs, filled Sister Maria with joy who thanked everyone by joining in the singing. Relatives from France and Veneto would also have been present, in addition to the Provincial and several FMA of the Province, but for the moment Sister had to be content with spiritual closeness in prayer and video calls, in the hope of receiving soon ‘live’ hugs and best wishes.
