Rome (Italy). Taking place on 2 to 22 March 2020, is the Coordinators 3.0 Online Course Communicate the good well: Inform, educate to the good in the heart of Contemporaneity, organized by the Communications Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
The aim of the course is to offer a formative opportunity in view of the mission, revitalizing in the Educating Communities the commitment to Educomunication, in order to live the Preventive System in Contemporaneity according to the Christian anthropological vision (cf. Acts GC XXIII, 66,4). It is addressed to the Province and local Coordinators of Communication, especially those who are beginning to live the commitment of Missionaries of Communication.
The General Councilor for Communications, Sr. Maria Helena Moreira, explains in the Letter of Convocation, “Today we are witnessing the rapidity with which the processes of change and transformation evolve, which characterize emerging societies and cultures, the youth universe. The combination of complexity and rapid change puts us in a context of fluidity and uncertainty. At the same time, we are witnessing extraordinary scientific developments that have a direct impact on the person’s self-understanding. Digital technology offers great and efficient communication potential, and young people live in the digital environment naturally, making it their usual courtyard for meeting and sharing, for friendship and gathering with peers” (Circ. 985). “In this scenario, we feel challenged to acquire communication skills to interact in digital environments which are anthropological spaces that shape new subjects. We are called to consider Communication as a mission shared with the whole community: Institutional Communication which makes Salesian charismatic values visible.”
About 160 participants have chosen to live this Educommunication adventure, embarking on a journey in three stages: the return to the origins to understand the communication intent and the Educommunication style of Don Bosco and of Mother Mazzarello; immersion in the complex Environment that is the Infosphere, to and enter into the heart of Institutional Communication to know its foundations.
The Participants study the themes and practice in order to acquire communication skills. The methodology of video-conferencing the meetings was proposed, through Ciscowebex and tutoring, and for carrying out the activities sharing through Forum, and accompanying teachers with the Piattaforma Moodle
The Coordinators 3.0 Course is a space for sharing, exchanging experiences, knowledge, reflection, collaborative learning, confrontation with the daily challenges of the Educommunication mission.
The experience in progress is almost at an end, however the journey continues in the daily life of the Educommunication mission. Sister Maria Helena in her greeting said: “We wish you a good continuation of the journey, with eyes attentive to the surprises of God, to the wonders of the contemporary world of Communication, in the exercise of a citizenship in solidarity, committed to building ethical, just, transparent information at the service of the common Good.”
