Rome (Italy). The Commission for Education of the Unions of UISG and USG Major Superiors in view of the world event Global Compact on Education, wanted by Pope Francis and promoted by the Congregation for Catholic Education, which took place online on October 15, 2020, presented a video on the plural reality of Catholic education in the world.

14 male and female religious congregations collaborated in the preparation of the video, recounting educational experiences in reference to the four themes  identified for the realization of the Education Village:

  • Human dignity and human rights
  • Integral Ecology
  • Peace and citizenship
  • Solidarity and development

Each theme was interpreted starting from the solicitations of Pope Francis on the need to “build a village of education where, in diversity, the commitment to generate a network of human and open relationships is shared” (cf. Message to launch the Education Pact) which proposes some concrete steps: putting the person at the center, investing the best energies with creativity and responsibility, forming people willing to put themselves at the service of the community.

The video it is a sign of networking and an encouragement to continue to bet on education and to work together with hope.

“Today more than ever, it is necessary to unite efforts for a vast educational alliance to form mature people, able to overcome fragmentation and opposition and rebuild the fabric of relationships for a more fraternal humanity” (Pope Francis).
