Mother Mazzarello Province (BMM) is pleased to announce the presence of a publication by a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians at the 28th edition of the São Paulo International Book Biennial. The work is “Textos em Contextos” (Texts in Context), written by Sister Josefa Américo Rolim, Pastoral Coordinator of the Auxiliadora Institute in São João del Rei (MG).
Promoted by the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL), the São Paulo International Book Biennial is one of the most important literary events in Latin America and the world. The 28th edition will be held from September 4 to 13, 2026, in the Anhembi District and will bring together authors, publishers, and readers from across Brazil and abroad.
The participation of Sister Josefa’s book in this important literary event expresses the strength of the Salesian educational and evangelizing mission, also through art and literature.
Sister Josefa explains how she created the book. “I wrote some poems and presented them to some people, who greatly encouraged me to publish them. Then, one day, with the support of the Province, we achieved a goal I never imagined.”
The work “Textos em Contextos” was born from a profound experience of contemplating life. “The book was born in a magical moment of contemplating life in the most diverse contexts, a moment of looking forward to the horizon to feel every word, every verse of this book.” In her words, writing was more than a literary exercise: it was a transformative experience. “Writing this book was like entering an imaginary world, as if it were the door to a mysterious garden, where I was transported to infinity and transformed in a magical, delicate, and incredible way.”
She also emphasizes that the verses have become a source of daily renewal. “The words and verses lead me to renew, at the dawn of each day, the certainty of loving and living with greater passion to pursue my dreams with courage and conviction. God continues to write in the sinuous lines of our lives.”
The BMM Province thanks God for this gift placed at the service of culture, spirituality, and the Salesian Mission, hoping that this publication will continue to touch hearts and inspire many readers to contemplate life with depth, faith, and hope.
