Rome (Italy). The CommTalkS, initiative of the Communication Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, continues with formative videos that aim to create a shared vision of the culture of communication, despite the diversity of expressions.

In the 3rd edition of CommTalks, Prof. Ignacio Aguaded, Professor of Education and Communication at the University of Huelva, Spain, author of numerous publications and research, talks about Media and Information Education.

“We live in a communication society in which the media play a fundamental role in families and in society itself.” Starting from the contemporary scenario, Prof. Aguaded appeals to teachers and to the Salesian Educating Community, to involve families in “necessary and urgent” media education so “that education may be exactly what the word says, ‘to draw out from within’, so that they are not things forbidden for young people, but rather, that they discover responsible consumption independently.”

It is worth exploring the topic by watching the full video with subtitles in Italian, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish (from YouTube settings):

The previous videos are also available: the first is the introductory CommTalkS with the words of Mother Chiara Cazzuola. The second is the Young People’s Questions on the Synod, with the Mother Emeritus of the FMA Institute, Sister Yvonne Reungoat, participant in the Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of October 2023, who answers the numerous questions that have come from the young people of the Provinces of the world.

The webinars are aimed at all Educating Communities and those interested, especially young people, and can be used for meetings and also for community animation.
