Io sono una missione

Rome (Italy). On November 25, 2018, the Solemnity of Christ the King, the second formation encounter for the Temporary Professed Sisters of the Pre-province Mary, Mother of the Church (RMC) took place in the afternoon on the theme: “I AM A MISSION FOR THE LIFE OF THE YOUNG”.  The encounter was divided into two main moments: the first was group work with the sharing of experiences and reflections on the theme.  The second moment was listening to the presentation of Sr. Maria del Carmen Canales.  Everything was interspersed with a beautiful time of fraternity and a good snack.

During the group work, we deepened our sharing of experience assisted by the document “Guidelines for the Formation Period of Temporary Profession”.   The reflection especially regarded two numbers of the Document: number 33 on the “Mystic of the Mission” and on the importance in this formative period of seeking opportunities and difficulties in living it.  And in number 57 on the adoption of a planning mentality in formation, pausing on the priority conditions for this time of our life.  The sharing was very rich and a great gift because the Temporary Professed realized how each other’s experiences enriched everyone and how this richness helps us to know that we are not alone on the journey but that we are in communion with our sisters.

The presentation of Sr. Maria del Carmen Canales entitled: “From identifying the mission as activity and how the mission works as vocation”, was incisive and deep.  The invitation was accepted to undertake the process of conversion of the idea of mission, to understand more that the vocation is mission and that we are called to respond to the call in order to serve the young.  There are three main points of this conversion: Re-awaken the Da Mihi Animas, empower our being evangelizers who pray and work, and open the doors to prophesy.  In this formation period of Temporary Profession we are increasingly living the construction of our identity as Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.  Thus, we need to understand the value of our vocation and learn to be witnesses with our life even before than with our educative actions.

At the end of the meeting, everyone felt and expressed gratitude for the gift of sharing and fraternity.
