Postulanti FMA a Torino

Turin (Italy). On 7 October 2018, in Turin, in the community of the Consolata in “Mary Help of Christians” Province (IPI), seven young women officially began the journey to become Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

Postulancy is the year that precedes the Novitiate at the end of which they pronounce vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. In the next ten months, these young women coming from Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Lazio, Hungary, and Russia will prepare for entrance into the Novitiate to become Salesian Sisters.

The simple celebration of the imposition of the medal of Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco, a symbol of belonging, had as its reflection theme the Gospel passage of the vine and the branches, and two letters with the recommendations of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello to the consecrated Salesians.

Present at the celebration were the Provincials of the new postulants and Sr. Paola Battagliola, on a canonical visit to the nearby Province of Lombardy, representing Mother General. She told the candidates: “The path you have taken is beautiful but challenging. The passage of the Gospel you have chosen reminds you: for the vine to give good fruit it must be pruned, and every pruning is painful. In your path you will encounter many joys and even difficult moments that union with Jesus will help you overcome”.

We wish these young people a good journey to be God’s presence among the young, with the most genuine Salesian spirit, in the footsteps of St. John Bosco and of St. Mary Mazzarello.
