Lubumbashi (RDC). From 6 to 16 September 2019 Sister Runita Borja, Councilor for the Youth Ministry Sector visited the educating communities of the “Our Lady of Africa” Province (AFC).

Sister Runita Borja went to Mbujimayi in the Eastern Province of Kasai accompanied by Sister Léontine SONYI, Provincial Coordinator of Youth Ministry, to visit the Salesian communities present there.

She was welcomed by the educating community of the Lycée Anuarite to the sound of fanfare and with the welcome greeting from a student. Sister Runita, after praying in the Chapel, addressed her message. She shared a project to be lived in 4 steps to change or transform the world: Observe, imagine, update, and share. The recommendation left to the Anuarite High School students and their educators was the slogan: “Together we can”.

The arrival of Sister Runita coincided with the tenth anniversary of Emmanuel Bernard KASANDA, Bishop of Mbujimayi. Sister Runita took the opportunity to emphasize belonging to the Church, thanking the FMA for their collaboration in the pastoral work of the Diocese.

She continued her visit by meeting with the young people of the SYM in Mwetu among the Salesians of Don Bosco. After the Eucharistic celebration, she told the young people: “God loves you, Jesus Christ saves you, and lives”. After a time of dialogue with the young, Sister Runita met the FMA of the Anuarite community to share the news of the Institute with them.

She then participated in the Eucharistic celebration with the entire educating community of M. Mazzarello.

After the Mass, Sister Runita spoke to the students about the Project “Together We Can” and then to the educators, valuing their work which is a gift of God and a vocation. In the afternoon, Sister Runita met with the SYM committee with the FMA and SDB. Together they talked about how to live the Salesian mission and Salesian spirituality with young people. An enriching sharing aroused the thirst to give oneself totally to follow Christ in the footsteps of the Founders.

Sister Runita met with the educators in the Anuarite community, and spoke about the profession of educator as a vocation. She took part in the inauguration of the grotto of Our Lady and the administrative building, which are gifts of Providence.

Sister Runita will continue her visit in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi.
