Mumbai (India). The Province of S. Maria Mazzarello gave a warm welcome to our Visiting Councilor, Sr. Phyllis Neves. Sr. Phyllis arrived on March 22, 2020. Sr. Rita Dora Thomas, Provincial, Sr. Rita D’Souza, the treasurer, and Sr. Supriya Noronha, the secretary greeted Sr. Phyllis Neves at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj international airport in Mumbai.

On March 24, Fr. Ashley Miranda, the Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Mumbai, celebrated the solemn inaugural Eucharist. He spoke of Mary’s presence in the life of the Institute. The students of Auxilium Wadala and Auxilium Pali Hill Bandra  gracefully welcomed Sr. Phyllis with song and dance. The members of the PAC (Provincial Animation Commission) had a meeting with the Visiting Councilor. The members shared their contribution and their collaboration for the mission of the Province.

In the afternoon, after a sumptuous meal, the animators of the communities had a conference with Sr. Phyllis Neves. Sr. spoke of the importance of living in community and of community members. The Provincial Council also met with Sr. Phyllis to share their mission and role in building the Province.

At the end of the day, a delicious dinner was served to everyone and the Salesians were also invited to participate in the celebration.

After the traditional ‘Goodnight’, Sister Phyllis Neves began the visit to the nearby Auxilium Wadala community.
