Rome (Italy). On 13 January 2022, the 40th edition of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days (GSFS) opens, held in mixed mode – in presence in Turin-Valdocco, and with digital connections until 16 January 2022.

The theme of the Days is inspired by the Strenna that the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, gave to the 32 Groups of the Salesian Family for the year 2022, which marks the 400th anniversary of the death of the Saint who inspired Don Bosco in the foundation of the Salesian Congregation, St. Francis de Sales: “Do everything through love, nothing through constraint“.

The 2022 edition of the Days will be experienced worldwide, with international direct from 13:00 to 15:00 (Italian time) from the Grand Theater of Torino-Valdocco and at a regional level, with a specific program, times, and different methods elaborated by the various regional teams.

In compliance with the anti-contagion regulations in force, a limited number of about 190 representatives of the various Groups of the SF will have the opportunity to participate in the face-to-face activities carried out in Turin: Eucharist, daily Rosary, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, visits to the Don Bosco House Museum, and other. Some lay representatives of the Salesian Family will be called to offer the thought for the ‘Salesian Goodnight’.

World activities will be broadcast live on the Facebook Page and by the  YouTube Channel of ANS, in five languages (Italian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese), according to the program:

Thursday 13 – Opening Session. Presentation of the Days by Fr. Joan Lluís Playà, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family; solemn conclusion of the year dedicated to Fr. Paul Albera, the Second Successor of Don Bosco; presentation of the Strenna by the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime.

Friday 14 – Round Table on the spirituality of St. Francis di Sales. The presentation of Fr. Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family will follow on Salesian Holiness.

Saturday 15 – Sharing of the Group Work carried out at the regional level and presentation of two experiences of Salesian spirituality in action, one youth and one lay. Participants in Valdocco will also experience the inauguration of the exhibit for the 400th anniversary of the death of St. Francis de Sales, at   Don Bosco House Museum in Turin.

Sunday 16 – Eucharistic Celebration presided by the Rector Major from the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin and final farewell.
