Rome (Italy). In the 6th video of the month of July, proposed for the 25th of every month, in memory of her birth into heaven, as part of the itinerary in view of the Canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti (1883-1969), elaborated by the historical spiritual liturgical commission to learn more about the figure of the Blessed, her message, and her relevance, Sister Elena Trinitana, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians of Sacred Heart Province (ECU), member of the Canonical Tribunal that followed the Canonization process,  highlights her reputation of holiness.

In the interview, Sister Elena talks about signs of holiness already present in Maria Troncatti in the different passages of her life and religious formation, made even more evident by her missionary work and, even more so, by her closeness to the people. “There are many aspects that testify to this reputation for holiness. And when Sister Troncatti died on 25 August, people immediately exclaimed, ‘Our little grandma died, a saint died!’. This popular certainty is, in my opinion, just a small brushstroke of Sister Maria Troncatti’s great reputation for holiness.”

Sister Elena’s specific commitment as part of the process was to coordinate the Commission of the cause of Canonization and to dedicate herself with other people to examine the miracle that was needed for this process. It is the miraculous healing of the Shuar Juwá Bosco, which occurred through the intercession of Sister Troncatti. Sister Elena highlights the fundamental role of prayer and constant entrustment to the Blessed on the part of the family and those involved in the process, to bring the patient to full recovery. He initially presented aphasia and was unable to walk due to paralysis of the left side of the body, and to successfully collect the data necessary for the investigation.

Significant is the message that the interviewee, based on the testimonies received from people, leaves to today’s young people:

“Sister Maria Troncatti discovered her missionary ideal as a child by reading a Salesian Bulletin. Today you young people are immersed in social networks, where you find wonderful missionary testimonies. I therefore encourage you to access it to read these stories and to be interested in similar ideals, because it is really worth it. I would also tell you that God has a unique and unrepeatable life plan for each of us, and it is our job to discover and realize it, just as Sister Troncatti did in her life.”
