Rome (Italy). On 27 December 2021, as per tradition, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, delivers as first fruits to the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Generalate in Rome and to the whole Salesian Family Strenna 2022 “Do everything through love, nothing through constraint” (S. Francesco di Sales).

In the year in which the fourth centenary of the anniversary of his death is celebrated (1622-2022), the theme of the Strenna is centered on the Spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, source of the Salesian spirit of Don Bosco, from which he draws to define the educational and evangelizing style of the nascent Salesian Congregation, “We will call ourselves Salesians”.

“We know that Don Bosco was deeply impressed by the extraordinary figure of this saint. He was an authentic inspiration for him, especially because he was a true pastor, a teacher of charity, a tireless worker for the salvation of souls,” wrote the Rector Major introducing the theme of the Strenna on 22 July 2021.

The presentation of the Strenna is a moment that involves the whole Salesian Family in welcoming the gift on the part of the Rector Major, father and center of unity, of the inspiring theme of the pastoral year, which invites us to look in the same direction in the footsteps of Don Bosco, towards the needs of today’s young people and  society.

The event will be broadcast in Live Streaming starting at 16:00 (Italian time) on the institutional YouTube Channel of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
