Nizza Monferrato (Italy). During the Summer Youth Center at the Our Lady of Grace Institute in Nizza Monferrato, in Mary Help of Christians (IPI) Province, the International Exhibition “Eucharistic Miracles in the World” was held, which presents a selection of the main Eucharistic Miracles (about 136, collected in 166 panels) that occurred over the centuries in different countries of the world and are recognized by the Catholic Church. The exhibition was hosted on all five continents. Starting from Italy a world tour takes place to discover the miraculous signs with which the Lord wanted to confirm His real presence in the Eucharist, from the early Middle Ages to the present day.

With the words of the consecration: “This is my body”, “This is my blood” the substance of the bread becomes the Body of Christ and the substance of the wine His Blood. The purpose of Eucharistic miracles is precisely to show that we must not look at the external appearance (bread and wine) but at the substance, at the true reality, which is the Flesh and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The exhibit was conceived and designed by Carlo ACUTIS (1991-2006), a young man from the Diocese of Milan who ascended to Heaven at the age of 15 due to a fulminating leukemia, through which he offered his life for the Church and for the Pope. His body, found incorrupt at the time of the translation, is found in the Sanctuary of the Spoliation in Assisi. He was declared Venerable by Pope Francis on 5 July 2018. The Pope referred to the Venerable Carlo Acutis as an example for young people in the exhortation “Christus Vivit” for his healthy relationship with new technologies. For Carlo the Eucharist was his “highway to Heaven” and his mother Antonia Salzano said that he wanted people to understand the importance of the Eucharist. Hence the idea of the exhibit.

From when he received his First Communion at 7 years of age, Carlo never missed the daily appointment at Holy Mass and then stopped in front of the Tabernacle to adore the Lord who was really present in the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lady was his great confidant and he never failed to honor her by reciting the Holy Rosary every day. Carlo’s modernity and actuality is perfectly combined with his profound Eucharistic life and Marian devotion.

Carlo was a young computer genius and he worked for about two and a half years, also involving his family, in this project which matured by helping catechists, traveling the world to visit the places where the miracles were documented, and then documenting them in the panels he created. The young man said that “by staying before Jesus in the Eucharist one becomes a saint”, “every second that passes is a second less of life that we have available to sanctify us”, “holiness is not a process of addition but of subtraction. Less of me to make room for God “,” God has written a unique and special story for each of us, but He has left us the freedom to write the ending”,” all are born as originals but many die as photocopies”. For Carlo, the Eucharist is a very efficacious means to realize this unique and unrepeatable project that God has thought for us from all Eternity.

The exhibit can be visited by everyone until June 28, 2019 at the Church of the Sacred Heart within the Our Lady of Grace Institute in Nizza M.to from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 12.00 and from 3 PM to 6 PM and on Saturday and Sunday by appointment.
