Visita di Madre Yvonne Reungoat in Cile

Santiago (Chile). From 10 to 22 November 2018 the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians is visiting the Province of St. Gabriel Archangel (CIL) on the occasion of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the arrival of the first Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Chile.

On the morning of November 10, Mother Yvonne Reungoat was welcomed by the FMA of the various communities at the provincial house, and then about one hundred children, young people, and adults in Mary Help of Christians School of Santiago celebrated her arrival with songs and dances.

Accompanied by Sr. Ximena Oyarzo, Provincial of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Chile, Mother Yvonne entered the chapel of the school, welcomed by an enthusiastic assembly.

A lamp, symbol of the celebration of the 130 years of FMA presence in Chile, was lit by Mother to begin her pilgrimage in the Country, as Mother Angela Vallese did in Punta Arenas 130 years ago, to unite everyone in the one mission of Da mihi animas and I entrust them to you.

In the name of all those present, Sr. Ximena Oyarzo addressed greetings to Mother, thanking her for her long-awaited presence by the whole Province.

Afterwards in the courtyard, the young people, representatives of different works of the Province, showed Mother their joy and gratitude for her presence by dancing to the hymn for the 130th.

Mother Yvonne greeted all present inviting them to live the missionary identity and urging them to think, to look, to speak, to smile, and to act like Jesus.

In the afternoon, representatives of the various Salesian Family Groups in Chile gathered together to greet Mother, celebrating the Eucharist together, presided by Fr. Carlo Lira, Salesian Provincial in Chile.

In an atmosphere of welcome and closeness, Mother spoke to those present greeting the various representatives of the Chilean Salesian Family committed to living the slogan of the celebration of the 130 years of FMA presence in Chile, “Together today, we are missionary remembrance and prophecy!”
