Medellin (Colombia) Sister Maria Luisa Miranda and Sister Alaíde Deretti make the Canonical Visit to Mary Help of Christians Province (CMA) of Medellin (Colombia).   It is an unprecedented event, with two Councilors visiting simultaneously, each with six communities to visit for about a month and a half. Sister Maria Luisa Miranda was welcomed on 26 February 2020, while Sister Alaíde Deretti arrived in Medellin on March 8.

Even more unusual is the fact of having made some visits in person and others online, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A change of program that required new forms, flexibility, and a creative style.  The Councilors demonstrated with facts and words that the spirit of the Salesian family exists and has no boundaries, that authority is service, animation, and government, and that spiritual motherhood is not subject to places, usages, and customs, but rather by overcoming difficulties continues to bring life to the sisters.

The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Communities welcomed them with simplicity, openness, a sense of faith and belonging to the Institute, enjoying in depth this visit marked by the loving creativity of God through the generous, organized, festive, and at the same time, appealing spirit of Sister Maria Luisa and Sister Alaíde.

This page was missing in the history of the CMA Province, which in addition to having imprinted the words of suffering due to the pandemic, also have the words that close the passage of the wedding feast of Cana, the biblical quotation of the General Chapter XXIV: “You have kept the good wine until now” (Jn 2:10).
