Una comunità FMA a Saluzzo

Turin (Italy). On October 7, 2018 the community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) was inaugurated in Saluzzo, which belongs to Mary Help of Christians Province (IPI).

At the Eucharistic Celebration at the Cathedral, Sister Angiolina Pertusio, Sister Rosa Gentile, and Sister Alice Morello were welcomed by the new parish priest. The three Salesian sisters dedicate themselves full-time to the activities of the oratory and parish, and above all they focus on being among the young, the heart of the evangelizing and educational mission of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

We desire, – says the Provincial, Sr. Elide Degiovanni – in the simplicity and familiarity of the Salesian charism, to collaborate in communion with the local Church and priests, for the education and evangelization of young people. We are among the people, with the young, to tell them with the heart and style of Don Bosco that we have only one desire: “To see you happy in time and in eternity”.

The decision to open the community in Saluzzo to take care of the youth ministry at Don Bosco Oratory in Saluzzo, the Center founded in 1937 and attended by children, young people, and youth, in response to the request of the Bishop of Saluzzo, Msgr. Cristiano Bodo, was the fruit of long reflection, of prayer, and of dialogue.

We open a new community to respond to the call of Pope Francis who strongly urges us to take new paths to proclaim the Gospel; to serve as our founding saints, Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, who always recognized in the voice of the Bishop the echo of God’s voice; for the newness to which Consecrated life is called today; and for young people who are our reason for existing.
