The Generalate of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians is located among the hills in the Monte Sacro district on the outskirts of Rome, near the Pontifical Salesian Athenaeum. The sacrifices and efforts of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, who come from different houses in Rome, assure a solid foundation for the new house of Our Lady, which is called the International Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
The approval of the Holy See arrived on June 25, 1969, with the letter of the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Religious to the Superior General, Mother Ersilia Canta, who writes: “We willingly consent to this proposal, motivated by the gratifying development of this Institute and also from the opportunity for greater closeness to the See of the Vicar of Christ “.
The definitive transfer of the entire General Council from the seat of Turin to that of Rome, took place on October 11, 1969, the feast of the Motherhood of Mary Most Holy. On the same date, the first religious community was set up, to whom tasks of collaboration and animation were entrusted by the General Council, as well as an incipient apostolic activity in the neighborhood that is rising in the area.
