Santiago (Chile). On 28 June 2022, in the context of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and on the occasion of the provincial visit of Sr. Ximena Oyarzo Mansilla, Provincial of St. Gabriel Archangel Province (CIL), in the entrance hall of Mary Help of Christians Provincial House in Santiago de Chile, a space of historical memory was inaugurated.
In this reception space, three panels depicting:
- Don Bosco with the phrase “Take care of them, they are my daughters”.
- Mary Help of Christians and Mother Mazzarello – taken from the fresco of the Mazzarelli Sanctuary in Mornese (AL) – with the phrase “I entrust them to you”, as well as a plaque commemorating the 150th anniversary of the FMA Institute.
- The History of St. Gabriel Archangel (CIL), in which some fundamental stages are reported from the arrival of the first FMA on 3 December 1888, including Sr. Angela Vallese, the transition from Preprovince to Province on 28 January 1931, and other significant events.
The FMA of Mary Help of Christians Community and all the lay staff with whom they share the mission participated in the celebration of the inauguration, with administrative and auxiliary tasks.
In words addressed to those present, Sr. Ximena Oyarzo encouraged them to continue building the history of the Province with grateful memory.
