Rome (Italy). On 30 October 2022, close to the Solemnity of All Saints, the General Secretariat organizes a prayer moment online remembering the Saints, Blesseds, Venerables, and Servants of God of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

In the context of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the FMA Institute, the Superior General Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, reminds us that the commitment to holiness is a priority:

“Mother Mazzarello said, ‘If you want to become a saint, hurry up, there is no time to waste’ (L 47,10). It is the first thing to do, but also the most important! We are not alone on this journey and we can count on the example and intercession of the Sisters who are on their way to the altars”(Circular No. 1019).

Mother writes in the same Circular:

“We cannot forget that our hope is also founded on the experience of many Sisters who lived intensely, worked with missionary passion, enriched the charismatic heritage of the Institute with their fidelity, and now, immersed in the Easter joy of Jesus, continue to support us with their intercession and their help.

Faith in the mystery of the Mystical Body of the Church urges us to renew our trust and communion with all the FMA who preceded us into Heaven.

We can have recourse to them, who live the fullness of joy and holiness, in particular to those whose Cause of Beatification has already begun, to those already Blessed, we can have recourse with greater certainty and constancy. We can do more to make them known, to invite others to address their intercessions to them, to make them work in Paradise too!”

For this reason, as a further initiative to celebrate the 150th anniversary, Sunday 30 October 2022 at 15:00 (Italian time) it will be possible to join in prayer via live-streaming with the significant places where the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians’ Saints, Blesseds, Venerables, and Servants of God are buried or especially remembered.

Connected will be:

  • Turin (Italy) Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, at the urn containing the mortal remains of Saint Mary Domenica Mazzarello;
  • Bahía Blanca (Argentina) at the urn containing the mortal remains of Blessed Laura Vicuña;
  • Alì Terme (Italy) Sanctuary of Mary Help of Christians, at the urn containing the mortal remains of Blessed Maddalena Morano;

  • Rome (Italy) Generalate, at the house in which lived the Servant of God Rosetta Marchese.

The Secretary General, Sr. Maria Luisa Nicastro, with her collaborators, invite us to participate:

“It will be an FMA 150 Holy Ween, a Vigil of All Saints on the occasion of the 150th anniversary, in which we want, through the intercession of these Sisters, to invoke the gift of peace and every blessing for humanity and for the Institute. Together, we want to strengthen ourselves in the faith through the intercession of these Sisters.

Let us join in prayer by entrusting them with the most difficult cases, with the faith that we have already obtained not only what we are asking for, but above all, what Jesus promises us, “… your Heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Lk 11:13).

We can express gratitude by documenting the graces received, so that we can contagion many brothers and sisters with our hope, many young people who do not find meaning and help in their lives.
