Córdoba (Argentina). On 1 February 2023, after the inauguration of the Laura Vicuña unified Province, the Mother General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, spent the day at the Provincial House of Córdoba.
During the morning she had a fraternal colloquy with the new Provincial, Sr. Silvia Boullosa, and convoked the new Provincial Council, made up of: Sr. Silvia Moraga, Vicar and in charge of Formation; Sr. Graciela Recchia, Secretary; Sr. María Lucía Cantini, Bursar; Sr. Lorena Pelusa, in charge of Youth Ministry; Sr. Silvia Dupont, in charge of Social and Missionary Ministry; Sr. Susana Billordo, in charge of Communications; Sr. Lucila de la Cueva, coordinator of the Salesian Family; Sr. Silvana Álvarez, Sr. Bibiana Barbero, Sr. Marisa Garlatti, and Sr. Natalia Vera, Councilors.
Before lunch, Mother, together with Sr. Marta Riccioli and Sr. Leslie Sándigo, General Councilors, lived a spontaneous moment of family and joyful dialogue with the FMA and some young people present, with whom they joyfully shared anecdotes of daily life. As an expression of gratitude for her generative animation, the Sisters presented her with wooden bowls from Timbó, engraved with the face of Our Lady of Itatí, a devotion from northern Argentina. Sr. Leslie and Sr. Marta were given a hand-knitted scarf instead.
Mother then began the afternoon by giving an interview to the Salesian Bulletin of Argentina and continued with a sharing with the Provincials of the CICSAL Provincial Conference, together with the Provincials who finished their mandate in the former Provinces of St. Francis di Sales, St. Francis Xavier, and Our Lady of the Rosary.
In the encounters that followed, Mother Chiara offered her serene, cordial, joyful, and grateful presence to everyone.
The day ended with the Eucharist celebrated by Fr. David Martinez, Director of the Post-novitiate of the Salesians of Don Bosco, who in his homily underlined the need to free oneself from prejudices in order to live discipleship as Jesus did.
On the eve of the Day for Consecrated Life, Mother Chiara encouraged us to live the following day in gratitude to the Lord for His fidelity, praying in particular for the Novices who would enter the Novitiate and for Sr. Florencia Abdala on the day of her First Profession.
