Manila (Philippines). The Province of St. Maria D. Mazzarello (FIL) has taken action with a series of solidarity initiatives to bring aid and support to the families of the Negros Occidental Province affected by the floods of 1 and 8 January 2021.

The FMA Communities of the Province, the Educating Communities of  Don Bosco School of Manila, and of  Mary Help of Christians School of Pampanga, VIDES,  Past Pupils,  FMA, and benefactors show closeness and solidarity to the families who experience loss and suffering from the consequences of the flood.

The two FMA communities Mary Help of Christians of Victorias City and St. Mary D. Mazzarello of Bacolod City, present in the area of Negros Occidental, with the help of the Past Pupils, distributed packages of food and blankets to families in the area and to some families of the pupils, past pupils, teachers, and school staff members affected by the flood.

The FIL Province does not stop at the emergency and accompanies the population with actions of solidarity  and supporting families in starting over. From 10 to 27 March 2021, the FMA Community and the Educating Community of Victorias City reached Past Pupils, students, and poor families, distributing packages of food, clothing, and hygiene kits. VIDES and the Educating Community of Don Bosco School in Manila provided the blankets.

The network of generosity that has been created in the FIL Province is a sign of acceptance and proximity for the populations constantly tried by the floods and is strength to get up and continue to hope.
