Rome (Italy). On 8 May 2025, the Conclave elected the United States Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, former Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, as the 267th successor of Peter. Leo XIV is the name chosen by the new Pope.
The greeting of the Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, on behalf of all the FMA, to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV:
Holy Father,
It is with immense joy that, in the name of all the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians throughout the world, I extend to you my affectionate good wishes for the mission which the Lord has entrusted to you as the Successor of Peter. We thank you for having generously accepted this new call to be Shepherd and Guide for all the people of God and for all humanity.
We invoke upon You and upon your Petrine ministry, the gift of the Holy Spirit, that He may illumine You, sustain You, and that we may all walk as a united Church, always seeking peace, justice, and working hand in hand together as fearless men and women faithful to Jesus Christ, to proclaim the Gospel, to be a missionary Church today.
Holy Father, we pray for you. Feel us open and faithful to what Your Magisterium will indicate, as our Founders have taught us.
We entrust everything You hold at heart to Mary Help of Christians. May she be for You help, comfort, and joy at this moment and always!
