Guaratinguetá (Brazil) The high school students of the “Colégio do Carmo”, of Guaratinguetá, of Santa Caterina da Siena Province of Sao Paulo (BSP), despite the lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic, continue to record the Info Sports Program for Radio Carmo.

In addition to the usual weekly program, two important interviews were carried out: the first, on 27 July 2020, with Mr. Joel Pinho, Councilor for Sports    of the Municipality of Guaratinguetá (San Paolo), which illustrated the management of Sports at the municipal level, referring to the legality and social implications, as well as recounting his experience in the sports sector.

The second interview on 3 September 2020 was conducted with Mr. Gian Rodrigues, professional football coach, currently at the helm of the team of Nacional Atlético Muriaé, from Minas Gerais. Rodrigues recounted the daily life of a coach and how the teams are trained, adding details about his football career. In addition to the viewing on the  YouTube Channel, the interviews can also be heard as a podcast on the web site of Radio Carmo and on the Castbox and Spotify digital platforms.

Radio Carmo is an Educommunication-Pastoral project, conceived and carried out by students, educators, and families, under the supervision of the Communication Coordinator and journalist Luiz Fernando Miguel. ‘Communicating values’ is the slogan of the project, which expresses the mission and style of the contents that are produced and transmitted via radio.

The students, educators, teachers, lay people, and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians participate in conducting programs and podcasts. In addition to Info Sports, Radio Carmo broadcasts other programs and podcasts such as “Walking with Mary”, presented by the Principal of the School, Sister Teresa Cristina Dominciano, FMA; “Literary Review” and “Minuto Verde”, presented by Sister Celene Couto, FMA, “Suggestions for reading”, Specials by Rádio Senado and Vatican News, “Meditation of the Word”, presented by Father João Carlos, and many other programs and contents, with the contribution of the Pastoral Team and other volunteers.
