Naples (Italy). The “Constitution of the United States of the World” has been approved after 35 years of commitment by the Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo Onlus which manages the Museum of Peace – MAMT (Mediterranean – Art – Music – Traditions), born thanks to the adhesion of 42 Euro-Mediterranean countries, with the collaboration of the main international organizations and with the precious voluntary contribution of men and women from various Mediterranean countries and the world. The Museum, which is located in Naples, in Piazza Municipio, is recognized by the main national and international institutions as an “emotional heritage of humanity”.

The approval ceremony took place on 18 November  2022 in presence and also on a web platform,  of the members of the Board of Directors, of the members of the International Committee, of the members of the Executive Committee, of the representatives of the Ambassadors of the United States of the World, of the Presidents of the Standing Commissions, the heads of the autonomous Sections, the representatives of the SUM Network, the representatives of the Bishops of the United States of the World, and the delegates of 181 Countries of the 5 continents adhering to the United States of the World.

The deed of approval of the “Constitution” was drawn up by the Notary Ennio de Rosa, after filing the 3 official editions of the document in the Italian, English, and French languages with the Court of Naples. On this occasion, the Secretary General, Prof. Michele Capasso, expressed his great emotion for a historic moment which sees for the first time summarized in a “Constitutional Charter” the rights and duties of the inhabitants of the world to safeguard the Earth and ensure Peace.

The first accessions and ratifications were attached to the act of approval, including those of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Salesians of Don Bosco, the Islamic Conference, the Euromedcity city network, the Mediterranean Academy, the Almamed University network , the Kimiyya network of women for dialogue, the Academy for a United States of Europe, and others.

Un summary brochure on the 35 years of activity of the United States of the World was attached to the same act. From 22 November 2022, the date of conclusion of international obligations, the “Constitution” has been definitively approved and transmitted throughout the world.

The bond between the FMA Institute and the Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo Onlus dates back to 2017, when the then Mother General, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat, together with the Provincial, Sr. Mara Tagliaferri, the Provincial Council and the Animators of the Southern Province of Our Lady of Good Counsel (IMR), visited the Peace Museum and signed up for membership in the Anna Lindh Italia Federation. This covenant is now being renewed with Mother Chiara Cazzuola in joining the “United States of the World” as a “Founding Member”.

Representing the FMA Institute in the ratification ceremony of the SUM Constitution, in the name of the Mother General, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, was the General Councilor for Social Communication, Sr. Maria Ausilia De Siena who, on that occasion received the nomination of “United States Ambassador to the World” and signed the ratification document. Also present at the ceremony were the Provincial of the Southern Province, Sr. Ivana Milesi, accompanied by Sr. Anna Avenia, and the collaborators of the Communication Sector of the FMA Institute.
