Rome (Italy). On 13 June 2025, the Ordinary Public Consistory, presided by the Holy Father Leo XIV, set the dates for the rite of canonization of eight Blesseds, including Sister Maria Troncatti (1883-1969), Daughter of Mary Ausiliatrice, missionary in Ecuador.
Sister Maria Troncatti will be Canonized on Sunday 19 October 2025.
With great joy, the Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, with the Sisters of the General Council, learned the news and addressed it all the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians with these words:
“Dearest Sisters, I come to you with great joy and together with you, I thank the Lord for the great things that He is doing in the Church and in the history of our Institute, through the direct intervention of Mary Help of Christians. I am convinced that the imminent canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti is for all the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians an extraordinary grace, a call to renew ourselves in order to continue with courage and joy, the path of holiness which God today asks us to follow.”
In the message, she dwells on some traits of her holiness. “The definition that summarizes everything in a few words is surely that of a happy and faithful Daughter of Mary Help of Christians and therefore, Mother! In her, the maternal dimension emerges clearly, generating an abundance of life around her and finding its source in a deep intimacy with the Lord.”
Mother ends by entrusting “our mission to Mary, Mother of the Church and first Missionary, in the awareness that, as it was for our Founders and Sister Maria Troncatti, She is the one who guides us, helps us, keeps our gaze open to new realities with a missionary and prophetic heart, a heart rich in humanity, compassion, and hope.”
In view of this great event, an Official Logo was created with the image of the Blessed, soon Saint, accompanied by the slogan, “Mother, Missionary, Artisan of Peace and Reconciliation.”
The website is also under construction www.mariatroncatti.org, with the biography, photos, texts, multimedia resources, news, all the resources for deepening and dissemination, initiatives and events promoted by the Province of origin of Sister Maria, the Lombardy Holy Family Province (ILO), and by Sacred Heart Province (ECU), where she gave her life as a missionary.

We join the whole Institute in thanking the Lord for this great missionary, Blessed Maria Troncatti. She felt more happy every day of her missionary life because she was rooted in God and committed to the integral well-being of her neighbour. May she intercede for every FMA the grace to live her vocation with deep joy, total commitment and missionary zeal like her.
