Yangon (Myanmar) On July 31, 2020, Mr. Thomas Karl Neisinger, the German Ambassador to Myanmar, was welcomed by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Auxilium Community of Yangon, of Mary Our Help Province of Cambodia and Myanmar (CMY) and by the students of the Professional Hotel Course (Food and Hotel Management). With him were Mrs. Mriana Knirschi, Councilor and Head of the Development Cooperation Department, and Mr. Tomasz Schwarz, of NIVEA and Hansaplast Company.

The guests visited the school as the FMA shared with them the story of the mission and the various activities of the community. After a coffee prepared by the students, they continued their journey to St. John Bosco Community of Hlaing Thar Yar (Yangon) where the children of the Kindergarten welcomed them with songs and dances. The ambassador conversed with the pupils, encouraging them to value, preserve, appreciate, and assimilate all that the sisters teach them. He then gave them notebooks, pens, crayons, and food products to share with their families.

The Ambassador appreciated the work of the FMA for their service of education in solidarity for the poorest and most marginalized, especially in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the end of his visit, he assured the FMA of his support with these words: “The world is like a large human family and we are asked to be united. So, if one is in need, the others must help”.
