Rome (Italy). On April 8, 2018, the Perpetual Profession of Sr. Mary Asuwafo, of Nigerian origin, took place at All Saints Parish in Rome.

“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall want for nothing” was the theme chosen for the solemn celebration of the Perpetual Vows of Sr. Mary who chose to follow the Lord forever in the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, to announce and to witness with her life the joy of the Gospel.

Present was the Vicar General, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola who received her Vows, representing Mother General, Sr Yvonne Reungoat; the Provincial of “Our Lady of Good Council” Province (IMR), Sr. Mara Tagliaferri; the Animator of the community of Cinecittà; and the Provincial of “St. John Bosco Province “(IRO).

The Provincial Vicar of the Central Italy Province (ICC), Fr Karim Marco Madjidì, presided at the Eucharistic celebration. In his homily, he underlined the bond of love that unites us to God as consecrated persons and the commitment to let ourselves be fascinated by God and the Gospel to proclaim it with joy to the young and to the world.

The Celebration was animated in song and liturgy by the Novices of Castelgandolfo and Rome Via Appia Nuova.

The participation of the communities of the Preprovince, of Rome, of Cerignola (Puglia), and of Mercogliano (Campania) with a large number of young people strengthened the sense of consecration “for God and for young people in community” gave meaning to the ‘Yes’ of Sr Mary.

At the end of the Celebration, there was a time of celebration and conviviality at the Novitiate of Via Appia where the sisters of Auxilium danced and sang to express the joy of the reception of Sr. Mary into the Institute of the FMA.

We praise the Father, because through the ‘Yes’ of Sr. Mary, He manifests His Love by continuing to call, today, young people to serve him in the Church.

Professione Perpetua sr Mary Asuwafo
