Chofu (Japan). On 6-16 October 2019, the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians is visiting the Alma Mater Province (GIA).

On October 7, Mother Yvonne Reungoat is welcomed at the Tokyo airport and then by St. Joseph Community at Chofu.  The Provincial Community rejoices at the long-awaited presence of Mother Yvonne, pilgrim, missionary, sister, and companion in the Japanese Province.

The aim of the visit is to strengthen the bonds of love, deepening the commitment of fidelity to the Constitutions, and fostering the development of the ministries in response to local needs, in the spirit of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello (FMA Const. 120).

During her visit, Mother will meet with FMA, pupils, teachers, laity, and young people of the Educating Communities and of the Salesian Family in Japan.

On Tuesday, October 8, Mother goes to Omura, Nagasaki to meet the sisters, Salesian Cooperators, and some parents of the FMA.  Then she will meet with the children and teachers of the nursery school, followed by Holy Mass in the Parish presided by the Pastor Fr. Kawaguchi and concelebrated by Fr. Tadeo, SDB.

On October 9, Mother visited the two communities of Beppu Sacred Heart and Oita St. Joseph.  She met with the Salesian Cooperators Group and spoke of their mission as ‘Cooperators’ in building the Kingdom of God according to the Salesian charism.

At the end, there was a time of fraternal festivity for the 93 years of Sr. Sato Michiko Teresia, who lived 70 of those years in the community opened 73 years ago.

In an atmosphere of welcome and closeness, Mother Yvonne communicates all her joy at being among  them and invites all to live the Salesian mission looking at Jesus.

Mother will continue her animation visit in the Japanese Province, visiting the various works present in Japan.

On October 17-26, Mother will visit Morning Star Province (KOR).
