Yaondè, (Cameroon). From 27 to 29 March 2022, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Province of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello of Central Equatorial Africa (AEC), coming from Cameroon, Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, gathered in Yaondè for the transmission of General Chapter XXIV.

In the months preceding the meeting, two moments of online transmission had taken place, while on 27 March more than half of the FMA in the Province were finally able to find themselves, after about two years of confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to live the experience of listening to the Holy Spirit, of charismatic memory, of sharing and discernment on the choices for the sexennial 2021-2027.

The Provincial, Sr. Lena Mestdagh, and the Delegate, Sr. Michèle Nyangone, who lived the Chapter experience in Rome from 17 September to 24 October 2021, guided the assembly in personal reflection and in commissions. In the joy of meeting and reciprocal exchange, the FMA of the AEC Province renewed their commitment to be “Communities that generate life” in listening to the cry of today’s young people.

“With humility, tenacity, and hope we commit ourselves to understanding the challenges of today’s world in the community search for the will of God, in fidelity to the spirit of the origins for a passionate following of Christ and a new apostolic dynamism” (Introduction to the Acts of GCXXIV).
