Asunción (Paraguay). From 26 to 28 December 2021, at the Provincial House of Asunción, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Paraguayan Province of St. Raphael Archangel (PAR) participated in the Provincial Assembly. Some FMA participated via online connection, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The main objective of the Provincial Assembly was the transmission of the experience of the XXIV General Chapter and the content of the final Document. The Assembly opened with a dynamic on the Magi, with which the chapter theme was introduced: “Do whatever he tells you” (Jn 2:5). Communities that generate life in the heart of contemporaneity.
The Provincial, Sr. Marciana Toledo Vergara, and the Delegate, Sr. Graciela Fernández, shared their experience in Rome, in the Generalate, from 17 September to 24 October 2021.
After a moment of prayer on the biblical passage of the wedding at Cana, which strongly characterized GCXXIV, Sr. Marciana and Sr. María Graciela began the presentation, introduced by the video greeting of the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, sent to the participants in the Assembly.
Mother wished everyone a rich experience of the Holy Spirit, as they experienced it during GC XXIV. She also recalled that the Assembly is an important moment in the life of the Province and of the Institute and invited us to care for people, especially the young, to guarantee a future of fruitfulness.
The Chapter members then presented a short video on the experience lived in Rome, highlighting the atmosphere that was created: the family spirit, multiculturalism, fraternity, the strong experience of the Holy Spirit.
Through some dynamics that favored the climate of prayer and reflection, the themes were introduced and the Acts of GC XXIV were presented: With Mary, being a ‘presence’ that generates life. Subsequently, the participants in the Assembly were guided to study the Document, to obtain some indications to be taken into consideration in the preparation of the 2022-2027 Provincial Plan.
Thanks to the sharing of Sr. Marciana and Sr. María Graciela, the Provincial Community was able to participate in this fundamental event for the life of the FMA Institute and have an initial approach with the documents, which they will continue to deepen to bring them to life in the Educating Communities.
