Rome (Italy). From 12 to 15 January 2023, in Turin-Valdocco, the 41st edition of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days (GSFS) will be held, the traditional appointment which aims to revive Salesian Spirituality in its fundamental dimensions, in a spirit of communion with the Groups of the SF, starting from the Strenna 2023 by the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, on the theme, “Like yeast in the human family today. The lay dimension of Don Bosco’s Family”.

The Days will take place in presence in Valdocco, with some moments accessible to all through online connections, in particular, the morning Mass at 9:00 and the afternoon sessions from 15:00 to 17:30 (UTC+ 1).

In Valdocco, at the Mother House of the Salesians of Don Bosco, about 250 people are expected and, in addition to the Rector Major and his General Council, various Superiors, Major Referents, and almost all the representatives of the 32 Groups of the Salesian Family will be present.

The Program

The Days will begin on the morning of Thursday 12, with the welcome of the participants and visits, for those who wish, to Valdocco and Casa Don Bosco Museum. In the afternoon, after the introductory activities and the welcome greetings, the work will get to the heart of the matter with the presentation of the Strenna by the Rector Major. Mass in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians and the Salesian Goodnight will close the day.

On 13 January the day will open with Mass in the Basilica and a reflection session in the groups of belonging for the various members of the Salesian Family. In the afternoon, there will be a round table with various experts and the possibility of questions also from the various Regions of the Salesian world, as well as a debate for the participants in attendance. The evening will end with the experience of the “Via Lucis”, a liturgical-devotional path born in the Salesian Family.

The activities on Saturday 14 in the morning, will proceed in the same way as the previous day. In the afternoon, the assembly session provides for a discussion on Salesian Holiness, which will be followed by a time of sharing good service practices with the young members of the SF Groups.  Then the participants will experience an evening in fraternity.

The last day, January 15, will open with Mass at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. It will continue with a gathering by groups of belonging, an assembly moment with the presentation and greeting of a new World Leader, and the final evaluations and conclusions by Fr. Joan Lluís Playà, current World Delegate for the SF, and the Rector Major.
