Antilles. Thursday of light , young people towards Emmaus is the formative journey proposed by the Youth Ministry of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Province of St. Joseph of the Antilles (ANT), of the Salesians of Don Bosco of the Province of St. John Bosco (ANT), together with the young YM animators.
It is addressed to young people who celebrated Easter of the young people and to all those who wish to make a journey of education to the faith in the light of the Paschal Mystery. The experience was proposed for the first time in 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, to accompany young people on the journey of evangelization.
Young people towards Emmaus is the itinerary of those who meet the Lord on their journey and it is the concrete way of setting out like the disciples, who listen to the explanations of Scripture and discover it by breaking bread. Thursday ‘of light’ recalls the day when the Mysteries of Light are meditated on while praying the rosary.
The objectives of the formative journey Thursday of Light, Youth towards Emmaus are: to live the Easter season with greater awareness, recognizing the presence of Jesus in daily life; to undertake a journey of formation in the faith as young people of the Salesian Family; to pray with the Word of God.
The formation, which began on 15 April 2021, takes place every Thursday evening until May 20, 2021 on a virtual platform and is broadcast on the Facebook Page  of the ANT Province. Each meeting includes a time of interaction between the participants, opening prayer, presentation of the theme starting from a biblical verse offered by the FMA and SDB, answers to questions, and final blessing.
The path aims to strengthen the faith experience of the Easter season, rediscovering the presence of the Risen One, to celebrate and proclaim as a community of young people that “Christ is alive and He wants you to be alive!” (CV 1).
