Argentina. On 30 January 2022, with a Communiqué to the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Educating Communities, and the Salesian Family, the three Councils of the Provinces of St. Francis de Sales of Buenos Aires (ABA), St. Francis Xavier of Bahía Blanca (ABB) and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Cordoba (ARO) announced a new step in the path of resignification of the works and presences of Argentina.
After a time of prayer and discernment, after consultations with the FMA, lay people, and young people, which was followed by the vote of the Provincials and Provincial Councilors, the proposal was sent to Mother General, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, and to the General Council, who sent confirmation of the name and seat of the new FMA-Argentina Province. it will be called “Laura Vicuña” and will have its seat in Cordoba at Mother Mazzarello Provincial House.
The Councilors of Argentina end the Communiqué, signed by Sr. María Elena Fernández, Provincial ABA, Sr. Adriana Gómez, Provincial ARO, and by Sr. Eulalia Briceño, Vicar of the ABB Province thanking the FMA and the laity for their commitment in sending responses, expression of the desire for responsible participation in the life of the FMA Institute.
They entrust this new step to Blessed Laura, “our ‘luminous girl’, to help us support our desire to be charismatically significant throughout the territory, ‘living with joy, with simplicity, and outgoing towards the poorest’, by making peaceful and solid steps and trusting in Jesus and Our Lady, who accompany us at all times.”
The journey of the Argentine Provinces, towards the unification scheduled for December 2022, began in 2018 and continues with the work in synodality of four Teams, animated by the three Provincial Councils, with the participation of FMA, lay people, and young people, engaged in reflection and discussion on four areas: Spirituality – Vocation Animation, Animation and government, Animation by areas, Administrative – Legal.
The Teams met through an online platform to work together and help define the face of this new reality and continue to open up to the Holy Spirit, who lives and manifests Himself in the contemporary world and trusting in the help of Mary Help of Christians, Mother and Teacher who accompanies the present and future journey of each Community.
