Fatima (Portugal). The meeting of the Salesian Family of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians from Portugal (POR) and Spain (SPA) took place in Fatima, Portugal, from 22 to 24 November, with 63 participants including the FMA, Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils, and components of ADMA. The meeting was coordinated by the World Councilor for the Salesian Family, Sr. Maria Luisa Miranda, with the collaboration of Sr. Gabriela Patiño and Sister Leslye Sándigo. The provincials were present, Sr. Maria del Rosario García Ribas of Spain and Sr. Rosa Cândida Correia from Lage Gomes of Portugal, together with the national coordinators of the Salesian Family groups.

The first day was dedicated to the theme of dreams. As the children of a great dreamer, it is necessary to keep this characteristic alive so as continue to bear fruit in the reality where we work. The indispensable condition for “bringing life in abundance” is working together, planning together, praying together.

On the second day, the focus shifted to verifying the resources, capabilities, and potential of each group that in an atmosphere of communion and unity, can multiply itself and give even more. To conclude, openness to the challenges of the present time that face us lead us to horizons for which we must leave our comfort zone and be more daring and creative.

The meeting taking place in Fatima, a Marian shrine, was characterized by a family atmosphere that allowed us to work with serenity and depth, so that the dream of the Salesian Family will continue to form “good Christians and honest citizens”.
