Subiaco (Italy) The Community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Subiaco, Rome, of St. John Bosco Roman Province (IRO), on 17 May 2020 began again to offer the Lectio on the Word of God through the online platform. This had been interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus the participants gathered in their own homes.

In the morning, after the opening greetings from the Community, the encounter began with the intervention of the Animator, Sr. Vilma Colombo, with her remembrance of Sr. Maria Pia Giudici who died on 20 February 2020.

sr Linda Pocher - Lectio San Biagio 17 maggio 2020

Sr. Linda Pocher, FMA, Lecturer of Marian Spirituality at the Pontifical Faculty of the Science of Education ‘Auxilium’, presented the Lectio on the theme, “Let the one who thirsts come” based on the passage from the Apocalypse 22: 17-20, with this interpretation: “The Apocalypse is a book for our times.  It’s central message is: whatever battle the believers find themselves fighting on earth, Christ has already won by His death and resurrection”.

About 40 participants were connected to the platform by those who, thirsty from the long quarantine, chose to come to the ‘source’ of San Biagio, “entering the heart of the Lectio on the Word, well focused and engaging, so as to make one forget the presence of the screen through which one is watching, “ as one participant highlighted.

In the afternoon, the participants returned again for the sharing, beginning with the intervention of Sr. Linda.  They lived the interventions with intensity and richness.  To conclude this first appointment, the Community of San Biagio proposed the online praying of Vespers from the Chapel of San Biagio.
