Anisakan (Myanmar) On 15 August 2020, the Feast of the Assumption, in the Chapel of the House of St. Mary Mazzarello in Anisakan, of Mary Our Help Province of Cambodia-Myanmar (CMY), three Daughters of Mary Help of Christians made their perpetual vows in the hands of Sister Veronica Nwe Ni Moe, delegate of the Provincial.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Archbishop of Mandalay, Msgr. Marco Thin Win; Fr. Saw Charles, Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco and Fr. James Luke, SDB concelebrated. In compliance with the health regulations for the Covid-19 pandemic, a small number of participants were present at the celebration, including FMA, those in formation, and family members of the three sisters.
In his homily, the Bishop encouraged the New Perpetuals to live their vocation to the full and stressed that with perpetual vows, one does not detach oneself from others, but one chooses to live and give one’s life for the love of God and of others. “Remain in me and I in you” (Jn 15: 4) is the slogan, taken from the Gospel of John, which accompanied the three FMA in their “yes forever”.
The celebration was followed by a moment of fraternity, in which the relatives of the Perpetual Professed expressed their gratitude to the Institute and the joy of being part of the Salesian Family, assuring their prayers for all the FMA. At the end of the evening, the message of the CMY Provincial, Sr. Jessica Salvaña, was read. She was unable to travel and thus followed the celebration online from Cambodia.
