Hong Kong (China). The Sisters of the “Mary Help of Christians” Province (CIN) lived the Spirituality Days during the Lunar New Year Festivities (16-02-2018) and the celebration of the 95 years of FMA presence in China.

The central moment of the Spirituality Days was the celebration of the 95 years of FMA presence in China, memorial of the intervention of God in the action of sisters who offered their lives to bring the “Good News” to so many brothers and sisters, and gratitude for the gift of belonging to an Institute that has as DNA “a strong missionary impulse”.

The new Bishop of Hong Kong, Bishop Michael Yeung Ming Cheung, celebrated the Eucharist assisted by the Salesian Fr. Denis Kong. The homily was an expression of Gratitude on the part of the Bishop who was happy to be with the Institute in celebration, and on behalf of the sisters who carried to the altar a boat full of meaning. Above the candles were the names of all the sisters who have already arrived at the Home of Joy, after having given everything to the “Mission”.

“Our joy is not felt just because we are celebrating the New Year – the Bishop emphasized in the homily – but each celebration is an expression of thanksgiving for the care that God has of us every day, because He has given us in Mary the example of humility, fidelity, and docility to the will of God that has permeated our life and our history. ”

Present were the Cardinal Emeritus S. E. Joseph Zen Ze-kiun SDB, and the young Salesian, Fr. Carlos Cheung, who presented the important points for a vocational culture and the programming of the vocation ministry of the SDB China Province.

The sisters of the Provincial Team transmitted the experience and the content received at the meetings on “Youth Ministry” and “Mission ad Gentes and initial proclamation”.

The young alumna, Ida Ip, participant in the CIAO Triennial Verifica, shared her experience and her recognition of the FMA for what they offer to young people in the world, concretely in their lives.

Father Dominic Lui, President of the Institute of Religious Sciences of the Seminary of Hong Kong, presented the pastoral care of health during the whole journey of life, according to the teachings of the Church.

They were rich days, which had as a refrain “there is no evangelization without fraternal life in community”.
