Costa Rica. On 22nd August 2018, in the presence of Mother Yvonne Reungoat, the first stage of City of Woman was presented, the social project aimed at supporting women in vulnerable conditions, offering opportunities for education, entrepreneurship, and integral wellbeing.

More than 1,000 women are directly benefited from the programs offered at Mary Help of Christians House and will have greater advantages with the new facilities.

“The City of Woman will provide adequate infrastructure and technologies for the social and educational development of its students and will gradually expand their skills, as well as opportunities that can be offered to women,” said Maribel Quirós, President of Asormari.

The school is equipped with seven classrooms, three offices, two classrooms for health services, the renovation of eight classrooms and existing baths, as well as the entrance to school.

City of Woman is a project under the auspices of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Association of Friends of Sister Maria Romero (Asormari) and has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between public and private entities and institutions. It is a ten-step project of integral education that opens its doors to women across the country who desire human and social redemption. Women over the age of 15 have the opportunity to complete their studies at the high school or expand their skills to start a business.

Thank you Sister Maria Romero who started these works and the City of Woman, giving continuity and sustainability to this great educational mission.
