Monterrey (Mexico). On the occasion of the Animation Visit of the FMA Mother General, the 50th anniversary of the canonical erection of Mother of the Church Province (MMO) was celebrated.

November 14, 2019 was a day of celebration and thanksgiving to God for the 50 years of life and mission of Mother of the Church of the North Mexico Province (MMO) which was canonically erected on September 20, 1969. The presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Mexico is already 125 years from the establishment, on January 28, 1931, of the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe (MME).

Present were Mother Yvonne Reungoat, Father Pascual Chávez Villanueva, Rector Major Emeritus, the Provincials who animated the Province at this time: Sister Blanca Villalón, Sister Teresa Zumaya, Sister Marina Nieto, and Sister Myrna Elizabeth Rodrígu; Sister Guadalupe Torres Montiel, Provincial of the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe Southern Mexico (MME) and Sister Leonor Guadalupe Salazar, Provincial (MMO) who welcomed Mother and those present.

The art festival took place in the Auditorium of the Excelsior Institute of the city of Monterrey. Through a theatrical presentation, one of the historical moments lived by the FMA at the time of religious persecution was highlighted, which brought about a growth of the Church in Mexico, preparing the fruitful ground in which abundant religious vocations flourished and have enriched the Country .

Students of the Monterrey schools presented Mexican folklore through choreography. Significant was the presentation of an acknowledgment to those who in these fifty years have collaborated in the works of the FMA for more than 20 years to spread the charism: educators, administration personnel, animators who with great dedication and loyalty have put their life at the service of children and young people. In conclusion, Mother left a message of encouragement and hope to all the participants.

At the end of the day, there was a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Pascual Chavez and other Salesian concelebrants. Mother Yvonne Reungoat presented to the Lord a lighted lamp as a sign of the charism that 125 years ago arrived in Mexico with the 6 first Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

Some Provincials who have given their service of animation to the Province, expressed the desire to continue to remember the past with gratitude and to live the present with love, looking to the future with hope.
