(North America). On 15 and 16 September 2020, the North American Interprovincial Conference (NAC) followed an online meeting with the Visiting Councilor Sr. Chantal Mukase.

The goal of the meeting was reflection and sharing on working together as a Conference.

Sister Chantal animated and directed the encounter by offering ideas on the theme of synodality, presenting a style of animation and government that calls for the creation of a ‘school of charity’ in the communities and in the mission.

Recalling the words of Pope Francis and Mother Mazzarello, the synodal style was studied, which is very important in the life of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

“The synodal style in the first community of Mornese was a prophecy of the missionary spirit. From the beginning, there was the choice to live and walk with the young women, sharing everything with them. The style of the preventive system, the centrality of the Eucharist, the maternity inspired by Mary Help of Christians characterized daily life in Mornese and Nizza Monferrato.

This style opened up to the missionary spirit as a testimony of communion that attracted and contagioned, favoring the birth of vocations and, above all, maturation in all the dimensions of the person and in Christian growth. This style is the secret of the joy, of full and abundant life for the educating communities.

It was a time of sharing and the mandate ‘I entrust them to you’ with the commitment to seek new ways of collaboration to spread the charism in North America.
