Gandhinagar (India) On 6 August 2020 in Pethapur, Gandhinagar, the inauguration of the Auxilium Vocational Training Institute took place, a new work of the Indian Province of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello (INB).

Located in the heart of Gujarat, on the western bank of the Sabarmati River, the work was blessed by the Archbishop of Gandhinagar, Fr Thomas Macwan, and officially inaugurated by the Provincial Vicar, Sr. Magdeline Sequeira, with a representation of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the three communities of the Gujarat region: St. Teresa of the Child Jesus of Dakor, Christ the King, Light of the World of Pansora, Auxilium of Baronda.

On behalf of the Provincial, Sr. Rita Dora Thomas, Sr. Magdeline expressed her wishes for the future of the work and gratitude to the Archbishop, the architect, the supervisor, the engineer, the SDB who collaborated, and Don Bosco Jugendhilfe Weltweit, an international humanitarian organization for the education of young people, which supported the project.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Archbishop and concelebrated by five priests. In his homily, the Archbishop spoke of the Transfiguration of Jesus, sharing his experience as a believer and the joy of knowing Christ and Christian values. In addition, he expressed his appreciation for the work that Sr. Magdeline Sequeira and Sr. Maria Macwan are already doing in Gandhinagar, with visits to families and lessons for children from villages and poor neighborhoods, with the hope that, like a small mustard seed, this new presence becomes a large shrub where children, young people, and the most disadvantaged women can feel welcomed and secure a future.
