“I will give you the Teacher”

Rome (Italy). The Salesian Family Sector of the FMA Institute, in collaboration with the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences «Auxilium», offers the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the various Groups of the Salesian Family present throughout the world the possibility of studying and revitalizing the Marian dimension of the Charism.

In response to the call of General Chapter XXIV, with the online formation course, “I will give you the Teacher. Mary Mother and Educator in the Salesian Family,” aims to carry out a journey of biblical, theological, and anthropological study around the figure of Mary starting from Scripture and the Magisterium, with particular reference to the Salesian Charism, “to be with Mary, a presence that generates life.”

“The initiative of the Course on Salesian Marian spirituality therefore aims to offer the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to promote in the Institute, in the Congregation or in one’s own group of the Salesian Family, the processes of growth in the knowledge of Mary and of her presence as Mother and educator in the Church and in humanity,” explains Sr. Leslie Sándigo, General Councilor for the Salesian Family, in the letter of presentation.

Divided into five thematic nuclei, the course lasts six months and includes several editions in different languages:

• • September 2023 – March 2024: Italian;
  • March 2024 – September 2024: Spanish;
  • September 2024 – March 2025: English;
  • March 2025 – September 2025: Portoguese;
  • September 2025 – March 2026: French. 

The modules will be delivered through video lessons, study, personal activities and evaluations, live streaming meetings between students and teachers. In order to obtain the Certificate of Participation, a Final Document is required, which consists in the definition of a Marian animation project to be prepared on the basis of the criteria acquired during the Course.

To enroll in the first edition of the Course, in Italian, it is necessary to completethe online form by 10 July 2023.
