Calcutta (India). On 23 and 24 June 2021 the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Indian Province of Mary Help of Christians (INC) had two celebratory moments to express their gratitude to Sr. Rose Ezarath, who animated the INC Province for six years, and to welcome Sr. Leelamma Palliparambil, called to the animation and government service for the next six years.

Both celebrations had the biblical verse as their golden thread: “And the Lord replied to Moses: ‘Take Joshua, son of Nun, a man of spirit,  and lay your hand upon him’.”(Nu  27:18).

On 23 June 2021, the thanksgiving prayer was held for Sr. Rose Ezarath, prepared by Sr. Celina Alexander, Provincial Councilor and broadcast in live streaming to all the FMA communities. This was followed by expressions of gratitude from the communities, collected and compiled by Sr. Clara Saminathan, and an online meeting coordinated by Sr. Lily Perumpettikunnel, with the intervention of the Provincial Vicar, Sr. Teresa Adampakallel, who thanked Sr. Rose for her passionate service, characterized by dynamism, caring for the sisters of different age groups, and strengthening the life of prayer.

The FMA of the Province, as a sign of gratitude, offered prayers and sacrifices, symbolically represented by a basket of flowers given to the Provincial. The cutting of the cake and the song of thanks by the 25 communities connected online were a testimony of gratitude. The communities present in the Provincial House offered Sr. Rose flowers, cards, and gifts. In the evening, Mary Help of Christians Community of Calcutta Dum Dum prepared a moment of conviviality that enlivened the family spirit.

On 24 June  2021, the inauguration of Sr. Leelamma Palliparambil as Provincial of the INC Province was celebrated. With the prayer of Lauds, prepared by Sr. Regina Adampakallel, the FMA invoked the blessing on Sr. Leelamma,   that she may be a guide in the style of the Good Shepherd.

The Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Fr. Joseph Pauria, Provincial of  St. John Bosco Province of Calcutta (INC) and four concelebrants, opened with a dance by the young FMA aspirants. This was followed by thanks to Sr. Rose Ezarath, the reading of the Decree of appointment of Sr. Leelamma Palliparambil as 7th  Provincial, and the symbolic giving of a  tree representative of the INC Province.

In his homily, the Celebrant  referred to Mornese, inviting each one to let herself be molded by the spirit of the origins. After  Holy Mass, a brief time of celebration took place in the Provincial House.
