Haledon (United States). On 2 and 3 January 2021 the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the third age of the Provinces of St. Joseph of the United States and Canada (SEC) and Mary Immaculate of the West United States (SUO) participated in the online formation seminar on the theme: aging gracefully in mind, body, and spirit”.

The workshop began with an exchange of greetings between the participants, enthusiastic about meeting through the virtual platform, and with the presentation of the speakers. The theme was explored by Dr. Mariette Danilo and Sister Mercedes Mc Cann, of the congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, who developed the spiritual aspect. During the interventions, the participants interacted with the speakers through questions and reflections on the themes developed.

Both days were introduced by the Good Morning of  the two Provincials, Sr. Joanne Holloman, SEC Provincial and Sr. Rosann Ruiz, SUO Provincial. At the end of the meeting, Fr. Frank Twardzik, a Salesian of Don Bosco, celebrated the Holy Mass of Sunday, broadcast in streaming from the chapel of the Provincial House of St. Joseph (SEC).

The seminar constituted for the FMA a valid opportunity of spiritual recharging, for the knowledge and appreciation of this age, fruitful in good for the Educating Communities and for the Provinces.

  1. What a great initiative. Sounds very interesting and formative for those of us in the Third Age!. Well done for your creativity of doing it on line. It shows that even in the third age we can use technology to keep ourselves informed and connected. Every blessing on each one of you.
