Colombia (America). On April 9, 2018, the Salesian University Foundation received legal recognition from the Ministry of Public Education in Colombia, a dream pursued since the 1970s, which was validated by a decree granting ” recognition of the legal status of the Institution of Higher Education with the character of a University Institution… “.
Undoubtedly, this new presence in the field of higher education is the opportunity for offering an educational system oriented to the Salesian charism at every stage of life. The news arrived during Easter time; the final approval of this project was taken up in the session of the National Council for Higher Education (CESU) on January 31, 2018, the feast of St. John Bosco. It is signs like this that motivate us to expend all our energy in favor of this mission field for the young, especially those of the working classes.
After this fundamental phase, comes the time to create the university community to accompany the whole process of consolidation and to prepare the qualifying documents that will be offered in the first half of 2020: Agro-Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Computer Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Bachelor’s Degree in Community Education.
The dream is a reality.
