Rome (Italy). On 18 December 2020, the Presidents and Delegates of the Associations – VIDES International, FMA Past Pupils, Mornese ONLUS, and Salesian Cooperators – expressed their Christmas wishes to the Mother General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat.
The SSCC World Coordinator, Mr. Antonio Boccia, and the President of VIDES International, Mr. Guido Barbiero, oversaw the moment of initial prayer around the theme of the Incarnation of the Son of God and the response of solidarity that believers are called to give, bringing the characteristic joy of the Salesian Charism.
Sr. Maria Luisa Miranda, World Councilor for the Salesian Family, introduced the moment of good wishes by presenting the video made by the three Associations with the initiatives implemented all over the world to be “Brothers and Sisters of all”, in solidarity with those in difficulty due to the pandemic of Covid-19: young Volunteers in the various aid fields, Past Pupils visiting poor families, the elderly and the sick, Salesian Cooperators in socio-political commitment to carry out development projects in the 5 continents.
Mrs. Maria Maghini, world President of the Association of FMA Past Pupils, addressed her best wishes to Mother, highlighting the commitment of the Associations in the time of the pandemic, not to remain closed, but to be the “out-going Church”, making themselves present among the most needy.
Thanking the Associations for their attention to the poorest, Mother wished all the members of the Associations a Holy Christmas in the hope of the Lord Jesus who comes “in the concreteness of a newborn in need of all. We are all people who have dedicated our life to the service of others, especially the youth world. It is the slice of humanity that most needs the sun of hope. It is the call that Jesus addresses to us this Christmas: be the Angels of the world today, acclaim for everyone ‘I announce to you a great joy: today a Savior is born for you’. May the Child of Bethlehem fill you and your families with His blessings and make you always good Samaritans for everyone”.
