Phnom Penh (Cambodia). On 24 May 2022, on the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Community of St. John Bosco, Mary Our Help Province (CMY), renewed their religious vows in front of teachers, staff, and more than 1500 students of Don Bosco Teuk School Thla of Phnom Penh, accepting the invitation of Mother Chiara Cazzuola, Superior General of the FMA Institute, as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Foundation:

“I invite every Province and community to make a special celebration on 5 August 2022, or at another time that the Province deems appropriate based on the calendar of their country, to renew the ‘yes’ of fidelity to the Covenant of love with God, as a sign of communion with the whole Institute, and of witness for young people and educating communities” (Circ. 1014).

“Each FMA is mindful to live the Vows with joyful commitment, meditating on her call and mission and renewing them during the monthly retreat. But since this year the Institute celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Foundation, we considered it significant to renew the Vows in the presence of teachers, staff, and students with new enthusiasm, gratitude, and joy. We are called to be faithful to the Salesian charism, to our vocation, and to our belonging to the Institute and to the Church,” underlined Sr. Teresa Tuale, Principal of Don Bosco School.

At Don Bosco, the FMA have Schools from Infancy to High Schools, with about 1,500 students and 100 personnel between teaching and non-teaching staff. A teacher from the High School, struck by the passion, determination, and sense of mission of the FMA, testifies: “When we came to this School, we felt loved. We like the way the Sisters guide us and their mission to the poor and disadvantaged young people”.
