Mumbai (India). Saint Mary Mazzarello Province (INB) united the joy and gratitude of the entire Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Salesian Family for the Canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti, with a solemn Holy Thanksgiving Mass celebrated in all the communities.
The Eucharist in the various Communities was presided over by Bishops from different regions, together with various priests, Salesians of Don Bosco, and the diocesan clergy. Their presence enhanced the celebration and underlined the unity of the Church in expressing joy at the gift of this new Saint.
A large assembly of FMAs and members of the Salesian Family – Salesian Cooperators, ADMA members, Past Pupils, students, teachers, parishioners, and numerous sympathizers wholeheartedly participated in the Celebrations. Their enthusiastic involvement reflected the love and admiration for Saint Maria Troncatti expressed throughout the Province.
To honor her legacy, the Communities prepared videos and songs in several languages, including those of Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, enhancing the cultural diversities and unity of the Region. Sister Maria’s life was creatively represented through dance, dramatization, music, and song, allowing the faithful to relive her missionary ardor, her simplicity, and her deep love for the poor and marginalized.
As a sign of the event, souvenirs were distributed to all participants, which helped create a festive and appreciative atmosphere. Additionally, several articles about the life and mission of Saint Maria Troncatti have been published on television channels, magazines, and newspapers, helping to spread her inspiring story to a wider audience.
The thanksgiving celebrations throughout the Province were moments filled with grace, joyful and profound, shared by all with deep gratitude and pride. The life and virtues of St. Maria Troncatti continue to strengthen the faith of the Salesian Family and encourage everyone to be instruments of peace and reconciliation in their Communities.
